Richard E. Morales, LL.M.

Richard joined Roth Law Firm as an Associate in 2019 and practices in the areas of business law and taxation, tax credit strategy, estate planning, and successions.  He holds a Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University School of Law and received his Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School. While at Tulane, Richard served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Susan Morgan at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and as an extern for the Honorable Fredericka Homberg Wicker at the State of Louisiana’s Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal.

Prior to joining Roth Law Firm, Richard worked as a financial advisor where he assisted clients with personal and business planning matters including retirement planning, investment management, cash-flow planning, tax planning, and insurance matters.

EXPERIENCE

  • Counseling developers and financial institutions in various aspects of federal and state tax credit transactions, including the structuring of historic tax credit and qualified opportunity zone transactions.
  • Assisting businesses to secure federal, state, and local tax and business incentives.
  • Advising clients in the creation and implementation of estate plans using wills, trusts, powers of attorney, nonprofit organizations, and family limited liability companies.
